- עֵרָבוֹן, עֵי׳I m. (עָרַב I) mingling, suit of followers. Ab. Zar.39a מפני שעֵרְבוֹנָהּ עולה עמה (Rashi to 35b a. v. והחילק: שעירבונה) because its following goes with it (borrowed fr. Ex. 12:38), i. e. because all the small fish resembling the ḥilleḳ are packed with it when offered for sale.
